So, What Might This Look Like in Greater Detail?

Please bring your face covering! We will both need to wear face coverings for your entire session. And, expect your temperature to be checked with a non contact thermometer before entering the office! In addition, you will need to update your health disclosures and paperwork before your next session -- I will send update reminders . (I have recently modified these forms and gone completely online.)  

A few other important notes:

  • Sick Policy: If you have a temperature above 100 degrees, are sick for any reason, have recently been sick, or have been around anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days, you will need to reschedule your session. There is no charge to cancel or reschedule your appointment for this situation, even if it’s at the last minute.
  • High Risk Clients: If you are at risk of severe complications, I ask that you discuss receiving massages with your primary care physician before your appointment. All of us are at risk of the virus; some of us are at a higher risk of serious consequences if we should get it.
  • When You Arrive in the parking lot, please text or call me, 619-772-0456, and we can do a brief check-in while you’re in your car. Once at the office door I’ll check your temperature.
  • Facial and Frontal Neck Work: Unfortunately, but understandably, I will not be able to do extensive facial or frontal neck work for the time being, but I can show you some self-care techniques.
  • Hand Washing and Sanitizer: You will need to wash your hands from your elbows down (20-30 seconds with soap) before your session, and I will be using additional hand sanitizer during your session. I may ask you to do so as well. Hand sanitizers will be placed in strategic places, and I encourage you to use it, along with lots of hand washing as needed.
  • Reception Room: Sorry, to reduce contact with others, no one will be allowed to wait for you in the reception room during your session.
  • Non Contact Payment Systems: I have also introduced non contact payment systems, through Venmo, Square’s non contact credit card system, personal checks, and cash.
  • Sanitizing Protocols: All frequently touched surfaces will be wiped down with a disinfectant in between each client. This includes in the massage room -- the vinyl surface of the massage table and head cradle, stools, etc.
  • HEPA Air Purifier: Although this filter is not able to filter the SARS 2 virus out unless it’s on a speck of dust or a droplet, the air purifier will improve the air circulation within the room, and will make your session more enjoyable.
  • Reducing Conversations: Because it is believed that this virus is largely spread by inhaling viral particles when someone coughs, speaks, or even breathes (even if they are asymptomatic), I ask that we reduce our conversations. However, since I love being connected to you, I’m available to chat by phone, before, after or in between your sessions, if desired.
  • For the time being, I’m limiting my practice to my existing clients and your referrals, and will be adding additional cleaning time between clients. This means I will need to adjust some start times by 15 to 30 minutes.
